The laptop i've been using since I was 14 finally kicked the bucket this week (still have all my stuff, I have the hard-drive in a borrowed computer rn) but I just keep thinking about that one time where I was trying to upload a fic to Ao3 from LibreOffice and it crashed not less than 8 times. the worst part? I kept not saving the last few paragraphs of that chapter because I thought "well, surely it'll work this time!" and it. it never worked. so I would re-write the chapter. and then I get SO excited that i'm done with the chapter that I try to copy and paste it. IMMEDIATE CRASH. by like the fourth time I learned my lesson and hit ctrl+s like fifty times which made it crash again, but saved it. then I did it again, and go surely it can't happen for a fouth fifth SIXTH TIME!!!!! SUUUURELY IT CANT!!!!! in the end I had to export the entire document, which did take fucking forever, then copy and paste EVERY LINE INDIVIDUALLY (because it wanted to make every line a new paragraph) and REDO ALLLLLLLL OF THE ITALICS.

pro tip: if libreoffice tells you to update, fucking update
